About
H.I.P. Founder, Tim Johnson, may look familiar if you’re a football fan. Known for his exciting blocked punt for the touchdown in Superbowl 37, he spent time playing for the NFL’s Ravens, Bears, and Raiders, the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders, and the NFL Europe’s Rhein Fire.
Tim is a proud alumnus of Fairfield High School ('96), in Fairfield, AL and Youngstown State University in Youngstown, OH.
Football has been good to me. It gave me insight into the potential effects of impact on the brain and lit a fire in me to take my passion for the game and roll it into a meaningful contribution to people who withstand blows to the head in their work, service, and play.
Vision
Tim’s vision for a helmet solution was one that took the most capable creator, nature, and leveraged its designs in a man-made product. The H.I.P. Helmet brought together biomimicking innovations, like a multi-scale, multi-layered, segmented and flexible combination of features. Future integration of sensor technologies to monitor force impact, pulse, and electrical brain activity are on the product roadmap.
Inquires on product, licensing, and investments is currently welcome.
